Ooh, the mocktail sounds delicious 😋😋.... I'd also be inclined to just use sparkling water as I still haven't found a tonic water here that hasn't got a strange back taste......and lots of ice.....

Make yourself a little spray bottle, (they sell them in the Chinese shops) with tap water, a drop of mint essence and a drop of lavender and leave it in the fridge door.....spritz yourself all over just before going out, very refreshing....🤣

I forgot to mention the ice! Classic Schwepps tonic water - can you get it where you are? I agree all the others taste crap. Good idea about the spray bottle!

Sadly, haven't seen Schweppes for ages. Some overpriced tiny bottles which do taste okay, but require a lottery win to buy or some no label stuff that really isn't very pleasant 😔

Hmmm eyeing that prehistoric guy- it’s a wonder humans kept reproducing….low expectations? Face only a mother or similarly attractive female could love?

He was actually a very nice guy - we had some communication difficulties at first but by the end of the date I knew the grunts for 'stone' and 'holy crap there's a large animal chasing us'.

Oh my... the cave man photo.. hilarious! 🤪 Definitely going to try a bit of "peach and quiet" (brilliant name!)... and... bra in the fridge! You're a fucking genius!! 😲👏🤣

So nice to see you posting your stories again, Rosie. Are all your books self-published? I am presently sniffing around self-publishers and also looking for an editor. I don't think I'll live long enough to be traditionally published.

I’m an indie-author (also have been trad published). I found my editor and cover designer through reedsy.com . I then publish my books through KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing). You don’t need a middleman (publisher). First thing to do is get your book finished, then possibly a development editor through reedsy. Hope this helps to get you started!

Thanks Rosie, that's very helpful. I know of Reedsy. The memoir is finished. I think it probably needs an edit, but I'm not one for faffing about with 40 rewrites. Maybe a proof reader after that. So, theoretically, it can be out this year. But what about distribution? Sorry to ask so much.

It has been incredibly hot here in Michigan as well. At an Art Fair last week we saw some artists wearing what looked like headphones around their neck and my daughter said it was a fan. She said people are wearing them in Chicago. (Portable neck fan on Amazon) Might not be as effective as the bra in the fridge but might last longer. I plan to get one.

I love it… I hate to admit I may have to try the bra in the freezer…. And may add my pillow, panties, and maybe a few more items l😂😂

Good thing I never moved to Italy (or Spain, as we considered years ago) because, as I age, I absolutely can't stand heat. Not bra in the fridge heat, anyway. A nice summer's day, sure, bring it on! I tried a Peach and lemonade with lime ice cubes, and that went down pretty well. Get me, lime ice cubes, what am I, a domestic diva? Or really, just someone who got a whole bag of limes in a veggie box.

Putting your bra in the fridge is genius! 🤣

She usually leaves it just behind the eggs 😔

Well I am sure that is because it’s colder back there. I think my teenage boys would lost their minds if they discovered my old granny bra behind the eggs. But now I think about it, it could be good strategy to prevent them from constantly helping themselves to anything in the fridge. The threat of coming face to face with my bra might stop them from ever opening the fridge again! 😂
